Happy Birthday!! Dr. Seuss!

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born today, March 2 in 1904.

I learned to read with Dr Seuss books, first with Dr. Seuss’s A B C, and Hop On Pop. I learned to count with the help of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Ten Apples Up On Top. Even as an adult I loved Dr. Seuss books. Oh, the Places You’ll Go! and You’re Only Old Once.

The books in front are from 1960’s and very well worn. (above) Even though the books were for everyone, I managed to take ownership, and still have them today. (below)

Even pets, like my eight-month-old Baby-Girl (hey, she answers to it), love Dr. Seuss books. She’ picking a bedtime story. No, seriously, she is. (below).

I read somewhere that a scniftieic study found that the difference between anger and fear is somethingthat youngsters find it impossible to see in others. So when a parent shrieks in terror because their precious child is about to leap from the top of a staircase the child hears and sees that reaction as anger and that this inability can be the cause of a lot of sulking.This sure made me explain myself to my grandchildren and it made our relationship better too.You writing always brings interesting stuff to the front of my mind, thankyou!
