SW Lothian – The Golden Scarab (When JJ discovers the secret of time travel at his dad’s museum, he finds himself catapulted back to ancient Egypt with his best friend, smack-bang at the centre of an action-packed race against time and living statues to find the sacred Golden Scarab.)

Nikki Bennett – Four Fiends (Join Jinjing, Pietro, Saburo and Kate as they explore exotic lands, defeat evil demons, and discover the true meaning of friendship.)

Scott Clements – Gasparilla’s Treasure (A fast paced adventure novel following Trip Montgomery on his quest through historic St Augustine, Florida to find the treasure of famed pirate Jose Gaspar.)

Paul R. Hewlett – Lionel’s Grand Adventure: Lionel and the Golden Rule (Meet Lionel, a lovable bully-magnet, as he arrives in Larrystown and discovers a magical Three-Toed-Potbellied Walbaun foot.)

Julie Anne Grasso – Escape from the Forbidden Planet (Caramel Cinnamon thought the worst day of her life was the day her grandparents, the King and Queen of the Elves of Cardamom went missing. She was wrong!)

Natalie Bahm – The Secret Underground (Anxious to forget the bank robbery she witnessed, twelve-year-old Ally joins her brother and the rest of the neighborhood boys (including the cutest boy in her class) in digging a secret tunnel to an abandoned steel mill.)

Jeff Bilman – Super Ninja Alien Robot Monsters (Ninja fighting, half-robot, half-monster aliens from Alpha Centauri have come to destroy the Earth. Are two bickering brothers the world’s only hope?)

Jemima Pett – The Princelings and the Pirates (A simple mission to solve a problem with the winery turns into a nightmare as our guinea pig heroes, Princelings Fred and George, are captured by pirates, rescue a damsel in distress, and get more than they bargained for in the battle of Dimerie)

Rebecca M Douglass – The Ninja Librarian (Skunk Corners is a dusty, tough, unfriendly town until the Ninja Librarian—a mild-mannered librarian who offers his wisdom with a little extra when folks don’t listen—gets off the train and moves into the library).

Adam C. Veile – The Dreamcatcher Adventures: Greedy Jack Wallace (When the ghost of his rowdy Wild West ancestor appears, seventh-grader Blake Monroe joins him in the search for a hidden treasure, but they soon discover a deadly outlaw is in pursuit and they’ll be lucky to escape with their lives!)

Krista Michelle Breen – Knockout: The Hermit’s Escape (When Phillip Brooks’ new horse leaves him face down in the mud, he soon discovers something very strange is going on inside the old hermit Bert Massey’s house.)

Stanley & Katrina – The Perpetual Papers of the Pack of Pets (Cat and Dog. It is a love/hate relationship. Enter the inner psyche of these creatures as they try to peacefully coexist within the same house. Cleverly written. Hilarious antics.)

Anna Olswanger – Greenhorn (Greenhorn is a powerful story that gives human dimension to the Holocaust. It poignantly underscores our flawed humanity and speaks to the healing value of friendship. )

  1. Let’s make one thing perfectly clear, because clearly there are a few deluded people around here. I will be the winner. You DO NOT need a Kindle – you already get BOXES of books. The gods of kharma already shine down on you, so please help spread it around! 😛

    • I received ONE box of books from a publisher of children’s text books. The rest I get like everybody else. In reality, you get a box of book reviews from your guest reviewers. You are in the better position, my blogging friend. I’ll trade, if you want? If I knew how, or figure out how, to get boxes of books, you will be the only reviewer I’ll fill in. “Blogger’s Pledge.”

  2. Hi Sue,
Your post rocks, and better yet you’ve compiled all the details I needed to gather for writing my post tonight!
It’s been an extreme pleasure working with this talented and enthusiastic group of folks. I’m sure many will follow in the footsteps of Sally’s brilliant idea.

Good luck in the draw and you so much for sharing your readers 🙂

    • Thank you Krista. It is a pleasure to see you here — TWICE! My you do like this post. You really do! 😳

I can take credit for how the information is arranged and the deranged mess of colors, BUT Julie Anne Grasso sent me all the information. It is perfect line-by-line, and then I messed with it. I can send it to you if you’d like? (Use contact form and I can then email you.)

You can also ways copy the post. I’ll look the other way, ignoring the plagiarism. 😆

  3. Thanks for posting on the Kidlit Blog hop Sue, I will appeal to the great raffle- copter-Oz on your behalf, let Sue win, let Sue win, let Sue win. LOL, Glad you figured out the trailer, off to stand in the naughty corner for not sending the code sooner….Cheers Julie

    • Julie,

I ordinarily do not believe in strange happenings, like ghosts or spirits, but I do believe in Karma. I wish you hadn’t thank me for the video — I cannot see it and I cannot get it embedded in the post or the comments, though it is giving the space for it. I a stumped. I feel like someone is pranking me. Where is the darn video? Twice! HELP!!!

  4. Sorry Sue, but I am pretty sure my wife has this Kindle Fire in the bag… Is that a conflict of interest if I am one of the authors? I guess I won’t worry about it any more once she has the Fire in her hands. Thanks for helping spread the word 😀

    • Spread the Fire word – no pun intended, is my pleasure. I have no worries because the Kindle Fire is mine. You are a guest on my site, a new guest, and I do want to welcome you in a fashion that will bring you back again, and again, and again, and again (this is a spell). So I will be kind and not argue when you incorrectly claim your wife will win the Kindle Fire.

Being one of the 14 fabulous authors cause a conflict of interest? Well, are we speaking legally, morally, or middle gradey? I’d answer, “Yes. Yes. NO.”

  5. Hi Sue! Thank you so much for featuring the project. I’m honoured to be part of it and hope everyone enjoys taking part in the competition.
    Cheers! Jemima

    • Hi Jemima. I think this is a wonderful idea and a great way to get middle grade authors some recognition. I hope this is repeated next year: Love Middle Grade Actually 2014 I like that number. Maybe it is time I wrote a MG book. Hm, I gotta go. thanks for stopping by.

    • Hi Stanley and Katrina. Are you a Middle Grade Author-Duo? I have two cats but neither has said anything wise. I might need to read your book.

Thank you for noticing the colors. I love colors too. I got the entire post from Julie Anne Grasso and then played with it a little. I love supporting this wonderful idea. And the book is good, too. Please come back Katrina and bring Stanley with you.

      • I’m here. Katrina usually does the posting for us. She has more words to say than I do. ~Stanley
Of course, Stanley is correct about that. Yes we are a writing duo. We also enlisted a narrator, Morty (a bunny), to help us write our book. I see the colors a bit better than Stanley does. He is only a dog, after all. ~Katrina von Cat the Master of Wisdom and Knowledge
Thank you again for the pretty post!

  6. Hi Sue,
Thanks so much for the great post! This is such a great idea. A great chance to sample mg books from some really super authors as well as win great prizes. I’m so pleased to be involved and can’t wait to see who wins. Thanks again, I love your blog and hope you are feeling better.

    • Thanks Paul.
As I told Julie, the winner is going to be me. It is in the bag. I have bought the book, but can’t enter the answer just yet, but that is just a formality.

I have read some of the book and it is wonderful. This is a project that I can see happening each year, using the new authors for that year mixed in with some established authors. Great idea. Who came up with the idea and got things rolling?

I am feeling better. I was going to write a review yesterday but just had no energy. I am so thankful Julie sent me this so I had something to post.

        • It is always okay to post links to wonderful children’s lit. sites, like yours, where I am headed to right now. I hope you cleaned up, picked up all your toys (I am always tripping over my kitties’ toys), got clean. I may be bringing treats! Thanks for letting me know who started this big ol’ mess of MG love.

          • Wonderful! Thank you, Sue. We look forward to seeing your winning name, tomorrow. 😉 We are not always good about picking up our toys, we admit.

  7. Hi Sue,
I’m so pleased to be involved with this and just wanted to say thanks for your support with this initiative. It’s really appreciated.

    • You are welcome. I think this is a great idea. What better way to find out about new authors, or established authors I don’t know about, than a book like this. Hey, I already bought my copy the day Julie sent me the email asking if I’d post.

    • Julie, please relax. The winner is already chosen and I will pick up my prize on the 14th. Hope you don’t mind that I played with the layout you gave me. Hey, I notice this post is rated by the readers as a solid five. Three votes have been counted thus far. I wonder who they might be? 😀
