Peter H. Reynolds wrote a picture book called The Dot! After teacher Terry Shay showed The Dot to his classroom on September 15, 2009. From there DOT Day was born!

That book (DOT) was everywhere to be seen on International Dot Day. Maybe we should put together a book called Dot Dot Dot and pitch it for the next International Dot Day. I’m sure it will do well. What do you think? Thanks for linking in the Kid Lit Blog Hop! 🙂

Thats an awesome way to celebrate The Dot Day! I love Peter Reynolds books. His books about art are an inspiration! I wish I had read them when I was little and felt completely like Vashti! But its never too late 🙂

I am so glad you are here and enjoyed the post. Dot Day is not over, not yet. It is on the 15th-ish. That could mean a week or even a month from now. Read the book again, for the child in you, and enjoy it as you wish you had then. 🙂

This is wonderful. I am glad to see this link as I reviewed this book several weeks ago and linked up with this International Dot Day. I am glad to see readers being creative no matter what age we are! The whole Creatrilogy series is wonderful!

I enjoyed reading about Dot Day (my daughter who is a teacher had shared the book with me, and I loved it – as do many people I see.) As usual, Sue, you have a lot to share with readers and authors alike. I am especially looking forward to sharing my next book with you, to be released in 2014: My Fingerpaint Masterpiece. My Fingerpaint Masterpiece is the title (not fingerprint…sort of changes the concept!) It will be my 6th book – so hopefully a 6th hit (and no record!) A little different than the manners books, but still teaching… I’d love an early review, once it’s ready to share…

Sounds like you and yours celebrate Dot Day every day! Julie, you are more creative that you think. Maybe being as you are down *there,* and have nothing else to do but celebrate that you are in Australia, while the rest of the world is not. I’d celebrate that, if I were down *there*! 😀

VERY creative, Suzanne 🙂 You know, I kept hearing people mentioning “Dot Day” for the past few weeks, and I had no idea what it was. I finally googled it some time last week and NOW I know! 😀 I’ve loved the book for a long time, and love what’s now been built around it. I think Peter Reynolds is fantastic, I loved him more knowing he and his wife (I believe with his wife) opened a bookstore, and then THIS was the icing 🙂 It looked like you had to be a teacher or have an organization to register, and wanted to know how to participate as an individual. Now I know! You just DO it! 🙂 Next year I will, for sure. This year I actually ended up missing it ’cause of what’s been going on for me lately. Haven’t been around much!

That book is called Is It Big or Is It Little? I will be reviewing soon. First I need to pick up all those books and put them back in order. 🙂
I took one picture and didn’t have that orange circle of the above book in the middle. It wasn’t until I saw it in a post preview that the dot should be in the middle. Re-Take! Nice thing about today’s cameras. I am not as creative as you and your sister. Things come to me almost too late. 😀

I grew up in Toledo, moved to Columbus as an adult, but was brought back to Toledo to heal from a horrible ordeal.. Now I am making plans to get back to Columbus, or one of the outlying suburbs. Small World! 😀
