Attention All Middle Grade Tweeters!
Kid Lit Reviews is pleased to present Cici Reno.
Who is Cici Reno? She is the friend all the other kids go to for advice. Cici has the right answers for these kids . . . until her best friend, Aggie, needs help. Aggie is too shy to talk to the boy she has a crush on, so Cici goes online and talks to Drew—as Aggie. For Aggie, Cici Reno is a middle school Cyrano de Bergerac; if Cyrano had been enlightened, thanks to yoga. (Cici is fantastic at Yoga.)
Like Cyrano, Cici’s help backfires. Cici becomes smitten with Drew. What a horrible thing to do to your best friend. In Cici’s defense, she never meant for this to happen. Today, on her virtual book tour, Cici stopped by to explain what happened with Aggie and Drew. From Kristina Springer’s latest middle grade novel, Cici Reno: #MiddleSchoolMatchmaker (Sterling Children’s Books, April 2016, 978-1-4549-1751-9), is Cici Reno!

Please welcome Cici Reno.

“Okay, breathe. Breathe! Inhale slowly through the nose, exhale loudly out the mouth. Repeat.
“I can not panic.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen. Aggie trusted me. I was doing this for her. But then it became something else. When she asked me to contact Drew, on her behalf because she was too shy and nervous, I said sure. No big deal. My friends are always asking me for help or advice. The plan was to make Drew fall for her. Not for me to fall for him. But that’s exactly what happened. We like the same books. He laughs at my jokes. We can talk about anything. But she liked him first. And girl code states that you can’t like a guy your friend likes. Especially when said girl is your very best friend.
“What am I going to do?”
