Prolific Nina Laden (Roberto: The Insect Architect (2016), Are We There Yet? (with illustrator Adam McCauley, 2016) Daddy Wrong Legs (2014), and many more; plus the Peek-a Series: . . . Who?, . . . Boo!, and . . . Zoo!), will once again thrill the youngest reader-to-be with her fourth Peek-a . . . board book.

Spreads alternate between the text “Peek a . . . ,” with a peanut-shaped die-cut hole, allowing children and parents a sneak peek at, and a chance to guess, what the clever object is on the next spread. Careful, what you think you see is not always—possibly never—what the object actually is on the next spread. Peek-a Choo Choo! contains modes of transportation.
Young children will love this colorful board book, perfectly sized for their little hands, and with sturdy pages they can turn and not tear. Parents will not only like the theme and thought behind Laden’s book, they will appreciate the glossy covers and pages, which easily clean up after dirty or sticky little fingers have the pages. The last spread, meant just for young children, shows only a shiny silver surface through the peanut die-cut. What, or who, will your little one find staring back at them?
Nina Laden’s Peek-a . . . series masterfully peeks young children’s’ imagination and sense of wonder. All of Laden’s books foster a love of reading and often spark that love. Parents of young children, ages infant to 3-years, will be delighted in Laden’s art, her text, and her age-appropriate themes.
