Review
Wearing a bright red scarf, Bunny is ready to tackle the bunny slopes. Bunny slopes are those beginner hills where new skiers learn to ride the hill, take turns, and eventually stop—without falling, tumbling, or crashing. But there is one problem and Bunny needs your help.
bunny-slopes_int-3The bunny slope needs snow. You can help make snow for the bunny slope. Simply pick up the book and shake it back-and-forth. Whoa . . . not too vigorously, you’ll make a blizzard. That’s better, a nice light falling snow. Now Bunny can take to the slope. Ready?

Bunny is at the top of the hill. Help him ride it down to the bottom by tilting the book to the right. There he goes. Tilt right, left, right, left . . . Bunny is smiling. He is having so much fu—TURN

No-no-no-no-no TURN!

OOMPH!

Well, who put that tree there, anyway?

Okay, Bunny still has a ways to go down the hill. All set to send him flying? Tilt to the right and off Bunny goes . . ., he glides . . ., he rides . . ., he spies . . . a lump . . . a bump . . . NO! JUMP‼

jumpppp

Wow, that was close. Very good. And you, I mean Bunny, missed the trees this time. Okay, here he goes once more. Easy, easy. Watch out for the hole! THE HOLE! Look out!

Don’t let Bunny fall, t h r o u g h the ho—OOO—le.

Oh, gees. Bunny . . . he’s, uh, where is he? Bunny . . .?

Bunny Slopes will entertain young children and keep them giggling as they send Bunny down the slope, into a tree, over a jump, and into a wormhole . . . to who knows where. Much like Press Here and Let’s Play! by Hervé Tullet, Rueda’s picture-book-slash-activity-book will keep young children on their toes, wondering what will happen next.

The illustrations of Bunny gliding, flying, and trying to stay up on his skis are humorously Rueda (Here Comes Santa Cat, Here Comes Valentine Cat, Is It Big or Is It Little). Bunny keeps a wide smile upon his everlastingly happy face. The pages are lightly thicker than normal for extra wear without tear. Only Bunny can show your child how to ski the bunny slopes and keep his happy demeanor regardless of the trouble ahead. Bunny Slopes is the perfect winter warm-up (uh, cool-down?), for young children.
