Dogs in the Kitchen, Dogs at the Doctor.
WHAT DO DOGS DO ALL DAY?”
[BACK COVER]
“This rich and playful homage to Richard Scarry features a cast of funny dog characters living their everyday lives. Children can learn all about seasons, colors, food, town and country, night and day, school and work, and much more—including dog breeds, of course.
Comprised of a bag dispenser, waste bin and sign, keep your puppy clean with pet stations and help resident pet owners to do the right thing by making it easy to pick up fresh bags and drop off soiled ones.
“Each dog has a distinctive character, revealed as they engage in funny conversations and playful vignettes alongside the descriptive labels and illustrations.” [PUBLISHER]

Dogs all day, every day, including Chow Chows, Chihuahuas, Poodles, Pits, Boxers, and Borders, all in the dog house.. A Day with Dogs gives young children a glimpse at the imagined world of dogs. No matter where the dogs spend their day, there are many things for children to see and learn.
I really like A Day with Dogs. Kids will enjoy identifying with the various breeds as they do the same activities people do each day. The dogs get up, bathe, eat breakfast, and then go off to school, work—, or another activity. Others might have an art class, a doctor appointment, or make a trip to the grocer. Kids will laugh at many of the illustrations as the dogs do such things as blow out candles at a costume birthday party (where not one dog is dressed like a dog or cat). From early morning to late at night, these dogs stay active and happy. Even kids not terribly, fond of dogs will laugh at the antics some dogs find themselves involved in during their day.
A Day with Dogs is versatile. There is something for boys and something for girls. Teachers will find many things to like and use in the classroom. Toddlers may find it difficult to carry the oversized book, but most
kindergarteners should not have any trouble carrying the book or adding new words to their vocabulary. There is no textural story, but give kids some time with A Day with Dogs and their stories will rival any the author could have written. This makes A Day with Dogs a terrific force for imagination and creativity.

What a wonderful book about dogs for all kids. I love the humorous illustrations! Kids like to imagine what their dogs are thinking, feeling and this book certainly adds to that curiosity!

Now THAT’S what I call a book. Dogs, dogs, dogs, and more dogs – doing what we dogs do (and don’t do). Fun. Plus, I think I saw myself in the first picture wearing yellow polka-dot shorts!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
