The coloring craze hit for adults and now the shelves are stocked full of crazy mandalas and other extremely intricate images for adults to color in with their pencils and markers. But what happened to kids’ coloring books? Did they go by the wayside? The coloring books with large images comprised of huge open areas to color within—nearly impossible to color beyond the line—still exist, but with the introduction of adult coloring books, kids have found their taste becoming more sophisticated, right along with their parents.

1Chances are, your mother and father will not let you color in their coloring book. Right? I get this, because you had better not touch my coloring books. (Yep, that’s plural.) It is time for kids to get their own intricate, sophisticated, thin-lined images to color as they so choose. The Kids’ Coloring Book: No Adults Allowed! Is that book!

Here is the catch: Adults, hands off! Adults, there are no excuses for marking inside this book. You cannot forget it is for kids only. Besides the title several pages within the book blatantly remind you this is not your book. Here are a few from the first ten pages:

“Don’t even THINK about it, Dad!”
“Meditate elsewhere, Mom”
“DANGER: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF ADULTS!!

The theme runs throughout the book, making it impossible for adults to make any mistake as to whose book this is and is not: it is not yours, if you are an adult. If this is not enough, there is a contract of sort on the first page. You must verify you are under the age of eighteen, and then sign it. Signing makes this as real as it can possibly become.

9781623708566_01_20b32The images are nice clusters of animals, sayings, aliens, and even a cute unicorn pony. What you will not find are mandalas aimed towards adults. Kids will love the irreverent sayings on some of the pages and the unusual images they can color in as they please. Kids who enjoy coloring and would like to color in their parents’ coloring books will love The Kids’ Coloring Book: No Adults Allowed!

If you like Scooby-Doo and his friends, and you like to doodle, draw, and color, then Scooby-Doodles might be your go to book for creating and coloring. Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and all the rest of the gang are here to offer you creativity prompts similar to writing prompts. In a scary scene, you are prompted to add monsters. There are mazes, aliens needing faces, and Scooby-Doo needing food and drinks only you can supply.

Kids will love all the different activities and the creative prompts will help them dig into the right-side of their brain—the creative side. Scooby-Doodles will keep kids busy for a long time. There are nearly 150 pages of activities, each one funny. Shaggy is trying to win the claw game but there are no stuffed animals or toys in the machine for him to grab. Can you to help him out? Draw those prizes; maybe even surprising Shaggy by putting one right in the grab of the claws!

9781623708115_01_29a8fScooby-Doodles is a fun activity book for kids of most any age. If you can color, draw, and imagine then Scooby-Doodles will entertain for hours. These two books, Scooby-Doodles and The Kids’ Coloring Book are two wonderful new books for kids who like to color and create. Both are fun and enjoyable—even at my age!
